In 2020 we launched our first digital magazine, ROAR. The launch issue features six articles, several pictorials with more than 120 pages full of images, and two videos totalling 21.33min.
There are also four image zip folders with 100 hi-resolution images from four separate shoots: a shoot at a building site by London Docks UK; another in the Sierra Blanca Mountains Spain where Alfie and Amir enjoy shoots with two sets of twins - Lewis and Thomas, Alex and Sebastian; Alfie, Amir and Alex languishing in the interior of a modern loft in central London; and finally an image pack that shows off the fun that Jimmy, Joe, Amir, James and Alfie had with the Holi Powder in the Purple Haze shoot.
Find out why we love the colour purple and how we have been escaping the British weather for our calendar shoots since 2014. Read an article by journalist Sean Abrams which talks about our history as a project and our vision for the future. There is a Sport Allies report, and an article about the unspoken rules of masculinity in sport by Professor Michael Kehler of the University of Calgary. Professor Kehler has been working for nearly three years on a review of the WR project as part of an international collaboration with Professor Brendan Gough at Leeds Beckett University in the UK.
Enjoy the first in a series of five pictorial features on our coffee table books, and find out more about the cover shoot for the WR20 Calendar. This shoot was made possible by our kind supporters at Royal Docks Adventure who provided the location enabling us to organise our biggest, most diverse shoot to date, with men of different ages, ethnicities and sexualities from a range of sports, including top stars from the GB rowing team and our very first trans man.
